Summer Term 2026 – Wed 6pm – 9pm

In this class you’ll get a hands-on 3 hour lesson attended weekly at the same day and time for a term of 9 weeks, focusing on the fundamental skills in woodwork and using hand tools. From a plank of hardwood to a finished piece that will be uniquely yours!

You’ll begin the course by dimensioning project parts while learning about clamps and workbenches and proper body positioning. You’ll learn about the tools you’re using and how to maintain them. You’ll get lots of hands on practice with using hand planes, chisels and saws and other critical aspects of working with solid wood by hand.

Perfect for those who have little or no experience using hand tools or those who wish to advance their current woodworking skill set. Over these weekly sessions we will introduce you to essential woodworking skills and techniques and guide you through refining and advancing these skills to create some truly beautiful pieces.
Each project will be building on techniques learnt in previous classes, culminating in you creating your very own masterpiece!
